PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

I believe that product development is most effective in a trio where an engineering lead, PM, and designer tackle a project on from the early stages. At Lumanu and GoodLeap, I worked with engineering leads and product managers to diagram and clarify the roles of the trio, mapping out touch points and milestones to drive more effective workflows.

From the design perspective, acknowledging that every project benefits from a divergence and convergence of ideas helps avoid the trap of going with the first design, and naturally encourages collaboration with other team members to think through user stories.

I’ve given lectures on this topic, socialized with incoming engineers at Google, and even wrote a Medium article that details each step of this process.
